The Twinning Project “Setting conditions for recognition of the Armenian Accreditation System by the European Co-operation for Accreditation” aims at supporting the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with regards to fostering internationally recognized accreditation and conformity assessment systems in Armenia, as pillars of the National Quality Infrastructure.
The German-Italian Consortium representing Public Institutions and National Accreditation Bodies of the EU Member States is in charge of supporting the implementation of the EU-Armenia CEPA according to international best practices and in line with EU regulations.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the German National Accreditation Body for the Federal Republic of Germany (DAkkS), as well as the Italian Accreditation Body (ACCREDIA) will provide expertise to harmonize accreditation in Armenia and the EU. The use of internationally coordinated quality instruments is a strategic step for promoting mutual trade and expanding export markets.
In particular, the capacity of the Armenian National Accreditation Body (ARMNAB), will be strengthened to fulfil conditions for associate membership at the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA) achieving the signatory status of EA Bilateral Agreements (BLA).
